Remote Control Program (RCP)

Remote Control Vehicles, 3D Tele-Operated Vehicles, Unmanned Target Vehicles, Leader-Follower Resupply, GPS Tracking & Navigation.

 

The Remote Control Program (RCP) group specializes in automation and remote control of any type of vehicle for use in automated routing, teleoperated control, programmed maneuvers, and asset tracking. These systems can be used in hazardous situations, such as mine clearing, HAZMAT operations, bomb squad, and avalanche/mudslide road clearing; in weapon exercises for testing or training with actual unmanned target vehicles; for GPS control and tracking of vehicles or other assets; and for repetitive operation resupply in port or other areas where manpower is limited.

 

Remote-operated vehicles can be outfitted with 3D view, pan/tilt, and audio attachments to give the remote driver an "in the vehicle" feel, and the system gives the operator superior control capability for vehicles, earth-moving equipment, and robots.  The system is easily adapted to almost any vehicle or application, and does not interfere with normal use of the automated vehicle by a driver.

Our Mission

 

We outfit ground vehicles with remote operating systems for either direct, joystick-style, or fully autonomous operation. Our services range from custom designs for new vehicles to routine fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair. We also provide complete and reliable support for weapons testing programs. We have been supporting tests at major ranges since 1979 and have hands-on experience in range operations under extreme conditions.

 

We currently provide three vehicle control systems: K-DRIVTM  a line-of-sight (LOS) system, K-VIEWTM a teleoperated system for direct control of individual vehicles, and K-PATHTM  an autonomous system for control of multiple vehicles along pre-programmed or "free-play" paths using differential GPS for navigation. Vehicles operating autonomously have detour capability around disabled vehicles. Position is tracked via K-TRACTM and passed to K-PATHTM.
